A 13-year-old boy was shot while playing basketball in the Bronx Thursday night, sources say.
The teenager took a bullet to his left knee on the field at Hunts Point Playground on Faile Street and Hunts Point Avenue around noon. 17.45, according to law enforcement sources.
The shooter fled the scene and was still at large.
The young victim was expected to recover from the shooting in broad daylight.
Sources said the teenager was likely the intended target in the shooting.
It was the second time a teenager was shot at a playground in the city in less than a week.
A 16-year-old girl was hit in the head by a stray bullet in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn last Friday while she was with friends after school.
At the Brooklyn shooting, police were still searching for three suspects fleeing the scene on Citi Bikes.
Kyla Sobers, a junior at Cobble Hill School of American Studies, was recovering from the incident, her uncle told The Post.
