ANZ has resolved a technical error that prevented customers from accessing their Internet bank for hours for the second day in a row.

Customers reported that they could not log in to their internet bank and the ANZ app from at least 11.30 today.

The technical problem was then rectified hours later at 3.30pm, the bank said on social media.

“The ANZ app and the internet banking business are working now,” the bank said.

“Thank you for your patience and we apologize for the inconvenience.

“If you’re still having trouble accessing the ANZ app, force it to close and reopen the app.

“If the problems persist, let us know.”

A spokesman for ANZ said earlier that the bank had a team of experts working to rectify the technical error as a “top priority”.

“We are doing everything we can to restore these systems as quickly as possible,” he said.

At previous branch closures, ANZ claimed that more and more customers moved online and did not need regular branch banking.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.

“Customers can still access funds via ATMs, eftpos and Apple Pay.”

The technical problem comes after customers were unable to make payments for several hours yesterday due to an interruption.

“We are aware of an issue affecting the ability to make payment ID payments via Internet banking and the ANZ app,” the company shared yesterday on Twitter and Facebook.

Frustrated customers have responded that the problem is “not good enough” and share their difficulties caused by the outage.

One woman wrote that she was unable to pay for her grocery shopping yesterday and another customer had to pay for her groceries.
