Heavy rain is going to whip over Greater Manchester this weekend before temperatures drop next week.

The region has enjoyed warm 20C sunshine over the last few days.

But the Met Office has warned that heavy rain will hit tomorrow and Sunday.

A spokesman said: “On Saturday, Greater Manchester will see rain, which is first heavily followed by clearer weather with some showers left and 18C temperatures.

“Heavy rain is expected later on Sunday morning.”

Forecasts have predicted that the mercury will drop to 13C on Tuesday.

It comes after temperatures across the region hit 20C on Thursday – and is expected to do the same today.

On Saturday there will be some rain in the whole region, which will be heavy at first.

Conditions then become clearer and temperatures reach highs of around 17C, the Met Office said.

On Sunday, a lot of rain and drizzle is forecast with heavy showers, which are expected for tomorrow.

The temperature will start to drop a bit and reach heights of around 15C.

Monday will be another very cloudy day, with temperatures expected to reach 14C.

Into Tuesday, there may be some light rain in the morning throughout the region, according to the Met Office, but this changes to cloud at lunchtime.

The average temperature drops to around 13C.

Conditions will be the same on Wednesday and Thursday, with cloudy, dry weather forecast for both days.

Average temperatures of around 14C are expected.
