Curious about what’s open and closed during the upcoming Thanksgiving Monday, October 11 in Ottawa? We’ve covered you.

While most grocery stores are closed on October 11, a handful keep the doors open.

The Loblaws on Rideau Street will be open from 7 to 22, while the one on Isabella Street in Glebe closes at 20.00

The Metro on Bank Street in Glebe is open from 9am to 6pm

Whole Foods at Lansdowne Park is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All regular LCBO stores are closed, but some stores may still be open.

All beer shops in Ottawa will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday.

Most of Ottawa’s malls, including St. The Laurent Shopping Center, Place D’Orleans and Bayshore Shopping Center will be closed to the public. Tanger Outlets will be open from 10 to 18, while the Rideau Center in the center will be open from 10 to 20

Some pharmacies, like Shoppers and Rexall, are open, but that depends on the location. Contact a specific store to check the holiday season.

Some indoor pools, weight and cardio rooms at Ottawa Recreation Centers will be open with changing hours on October 11th. Check the City of Ottawa Recreation Services website for the latest updates.

The Canadian Museum of Nature will be open from 10 to 16 on holiday Monday.

The Canadian Agricultural and Food Museum will be open from 9:10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while the Canada Science and Technology Museum and the Canada Aviation and Space Museum will both be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Access to each of Ottawa’s National Museums requires an advanced ticket and time slot.

The National Gallery of Canada will be open from 10 to 17

The Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau and the Canadian War Museum both close Monday.

All City of Ottawa parking regulations and restrictions apply on Thanksgiving Monday, with unsigned parking limits as standard for six hours on public holidays.

There will be no rubbish in curbs, green trash cans and recycling collection on Thanksgiving Monday, though waste collection in multi-dwelling complexes will not be affected.

All pick-ups at the curb will be delayed by one day, as will recycling, green trash cans and bulky pick-ups in multi-dwelling buildings.

The Trail Road Waste Facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ottawa Public Health (OPH)

For anyone who needs a coronavirus test:

  • The McNabb pop-up COVID-19 assessment center will be open from 6 p.m. 11 to 19
  • Moodie Care Clinic will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • The Ray Friel Care Clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • The Brewery Assessment Center for Adults will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • The CHEO Assessment Center at Brewer for Kids will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • The COVID-19 Drive-thru Assessment Center on Coventry Road will be open from 6 p.m. 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • The North Grenville COVID-19 Assessment Center in Kemptville will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Centretown, Sandy Hill and Somerset community health centers will all be closed on Thanksgiving Monday.

The supervised injection site and associated program office at Clarence St. 179 closes. The site’s mobile van runs from 17.00 to 23.30

The OPH Information Center and COVID-19 telephone line will be closed for calls.

Also closed on October 11:

  • Sexual health clinic and satellite clinics
  • Dental clinics
  • OPH’s baby helpline and telephone support for breastfeeding parents will not be available.

Customer service centers at Ottawa City Hall and Ben Franklin Place will be closed, as well as the Provincial Criminal Court of 100 Constellation Dr.

Ottawa’s city-run childcare centers will close on Thanksgiving Monday.

All branches of the Ottawa Public Library will also be closed.

Break centers on Bayview Road, McArthur Road and Cumberland Street will all close on Monday.

Residents can still call 3-1-1 for urgent issues that require immediate city attention.
