Richard Madeley admits wife Judy ‘hates’ being on TV

Richard Madeley can soon leave the comforts of his lavish home in North London to get a glimpse of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! later that year.

It was reported earlier this week that the star, who is married to co-presenter Judy Finnigan, has signed up to be one of the contestants in this year’s ITV reality TV series.

A possible appearance on the show would cause the Good Morning Britain host to leave the comforts of home behind and endure a stay at Gwrych Castle near Abergele, North Wales in an attempt to become the new king of the jungle.

Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan invited Channel 4 viewers into their homes during the lockdown

As half of TV’s most popular couples, fans were happy last year when Richard and Judy gave viewers a glimpse of their lives in their huge Hampstead Heath home.

The former This Morning presenters proudly showed off their home for 25 years during their popular series, Keep Reading and Carry, which aired during the 2020 lockdown.

Channel 4 viewers watched as the two book lovers opened the doors to their spacious detached property and welcomed the cameras into their cozy home.

With large windows and a Juliet balcony, TV legends are surrounded by beautiful wisteria and ivy due to their stunning property.

Throughout the series in five parts, viewers got an insight into life at home with one of TV’s most popular duos.

In an episode of the Channel 4 show, the couple joked that they had never seen their living room nicer, thanks to being entrusted with their home during the lockout in 2020.

As authors of several popular books, it came as no surprise to fans that the Richard & Judy Book Club creators filled their homes with novels and literature.

In the background of one of the shots, huge bookshelves at each end of the room could be seen with a series of literary treasures adorning the shelves.

At the first offer in the lockdown series, Richard told viewers: “This is our living room, welcome. We have all the security protocols in place.

Fans loved getting a glimpse of the couple’s home decor

“It smells like a disinfection factory, in fact Donald Trump would love it. It’s cleaner today than the 25 years we’ve lived here.”

If the rumors are true and Richard is due to an I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! stint later in the year, the star will say goodbye to his super-clean property and get acquainted with spooky crawlies on the hit show.

It has been claimed that ITV executives have finally convinced the presenter to sign up for I’m a Celeb

It has been reported that the 65-year-old, after years of rejecting offers to appear on the reality TV show for celebrities, feels that the timing is finally right and is said to have agreed a contract believed to be around 200,000 worth pounds.

In a speech to The Sun, a source said: “Richard has been asked year after year but the timing has never been right. But now he has finally said ‘Yes’.

“He’s a favorite among ITV directors. He’s brilliant outside and on screen, so it seemed as good as any time to throw caution against the wind and eat animals.

“He is a fantastic coup and a fan favorite. When you settle him, he goes away – he will earn for gold. “
