If you ever get the chance to have a conversation with Kate Middleton, it is only natural that you would like to make it a memorable one.
Rami Malek claims to have done just that when he caught the Duchess of Cambridge ‘off-guard’ with a very personal question about her family.
Joins Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, the Oscar-winning actor told about his latest meeting with Kate at last week’s premiere in London No time to die and how he had “some familiarity” with her from the 2019 BAFTA Awards.
Rami opened about their first meeting two years ago, noting that it was “fascinating” how she and Prince William already knew so much about him.
“You could see they’ve done their homework,” he said. “I was just looking at Princess Kate at one point and I said, ‘It must be exhausting.'”
“She said ‘Why,’ and I said, ‘You just had a baby, didn’t you?’ And I think she was surprised and she said, ‘How are you?’ and I said, ‘No, how are you?’. ”
The 40-year-old went on to say that the Duchess, who had given birth to her and Prince Williams’ third child, Prince Louis, 10 months ago, was very surprised at how their conversation continued.
“In the most royally elegant way, she looked at me, but you could see it. Imagine that you are dressed for nine, have to talk to all these actors, ”he continued.
“It was so cool because I think I caught her outside in a second. And [she] had the look in the most elegant, professional, royal way: ‘Yes, it’s a lot to have a child’.
“The funniest thing about it was that I said, ‘If you ever need a day off, for a while, I’m backing you up … I can take care of kids, you go out, have fun.'”
Rami’s interview comes a week after Kate Middleton turned her head in a falling sequin dress at the world premiere of the latest James Bond film held at the Royal Albert Hall.
Daniel Craig was reportedly stunned when he saw the Duchess and said to her, “You look funny lovely!”.
No time to die, which is Daniel Craig’s last appearance as Agent 007, will be released in Australian cinemas on 11 November.
