Firefighters are tackling a major fire at a garage.
The workshop fire on the A5 West Hendon Broadway, near the Welsh harp, has led to a huge emergency response this evening.
There are eight fire trucks and about 60 firefighters on site along with police, paramedics and rescue teams.
Firefighters say residents at nearby properties have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.

West Hendon Broadway is closed in both directions between Cool Oak Lane and Perryfield Lane.
The nearby M1 motorway was also closed in both directions between Staples Corner and Edgware from at least 9.15pm with the flames visible from passing motorists.
The Thameslink railway line was also closed, but the railway and M1 have both now reopened, the fire brigade informs at 21.51.
There is still heavy congestion on the A5 between North Circular and Station Road, and motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
Significant lumps of smoke can be seen in the sky.
The London Fire Brigade was called at 18.42 after receiving 44,999 calls and they are still on the scene.
Crews from Hendon, West Hampstead, Willesden, Mill Hill, Stanmore and Feltham are present.

MPS Barnet tweeted: “Officers help our colleagues from @LondonFire on the spot at a fire on West Hendon Broadway.
“Roadblocks are in place and people are being asked to avoid the area.”

The London Ambulance Service said it sent an ambulance crew, an emergency unit and an emergency response unit to the scene but has not treated anyone for injuries.
The cause of the fire is not known at present according to the brigade.
