Thousands of customers are without power in Toronto in the middle of the city, and can be for several hours.
Toronto Hydro tweeted just before 3pm on Monday afternoon that crews responded to a “major disruption” in the Yonge and Eglinton area.
We are currently responding to a major disruption affecting customers in the Yonge and Eglinton area. Crews are currently on their way. We will provide more updates as they become available.

A map of outages on the utility’s website shows that more than 15,000 customers may be affected by the outage.
Estimated restoration times currently range from 19:22 to 21:39.
Crews are in the midst of responding to the interruption, the cause of which is still unknown.
