Manchester United are rumored to see both Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte up as potential replacements for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

It is according to All transfers, who claims that Conte is the most likely candidate to take over at Old Trafford, but that the club is also interested in Zidane, who left Real Madrid earlier this year.

But the report suggests Zidane would not take the job as he is keen to replace Didier Deschamps as manager of the French national team.

Both leaders have resumes that would excite The Red Devils’ fanbase. While Conte has lifted 4 Serie A titles as well as a Premier League and FA Cup with Chelsea, Zidane has won two La Ligas and an incredible three Champions League crowns in a row.

Despite all that success, it seems unlikely that Manchester United would release Solskjær from his duties right after the number of purchases they made over the summer. This, in addition to the fact that he took Manchester United to 2nd place last season and is a club legend for his accomplishments as a player, means he has a little more credit in the bank than other managers facing a similar, indifferent start of the new season.

That said, with the new Saudi investment in Newcastle United, the Glazers may have to strike now if they want a manager like Conte at the club. Magpies’ current manager (and former United hero) Steve Bruce has admitted he is uncertain about his future after the takeover, with ex-major at club Warren Barton urging owners to make a switch to the Italian immediately.

“Currently [Antonio] Conte is out there, you have someone who has won in many leagues. I want someone who’s going to take this club forward, like Steven Gerrard did at Rangers, and have a little desire and a certain pride and a certain mojo that shows this club and this league that we have to compete and we are coming back because Kevin [Keegan] did it, sir Bobby [Robson] did it, we have to have some like that in the club. “

With Zidane convinced and Conte in high demand, it promises to be a fascinating couple of weeks on the red side of Manchester.
