“Like most people in the UK who were in their late 80s, early 90s, I grew up watching Neighbor every single day of the week, ”she said in a statement.
“I was glued to our TV for the wedding with Kylie [Minogue] and Jason [Donovan], while cursing Mrs. Mangel and praying that Mike and Jane would eventually get along! Not to mention all the other greats over the years.
“Now having the opportunity to be a part of such an iconic Australian show is simply amazing. I can’t wait to work with Jemma in London. It feels like a joyous event for everyone.”

Jemma Donovan, who plays Harlow, said: “I feel incredibly lucky to be able to film Neighbor in London. It’s a great opportunity to be able to film in my hometown and make what I love into a show that I hold close to my heart.
“The producers have wanted to do this for a while, so it feels so surreal that it all comes to life, not to mention working with Amanda. I’m very excited to create this relationship with our characters, dive down in history and shoot all over London.
“It’s going to be so much fun, and I hope viewers enjoy it as much as we do!”
Neighbor sent weekdays at 13.45 and 17.30 on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 18.30 at 10 Peach (Australia).
