Raphael Varane comments on PSG star show Manchester United must make transfer fluctuating – Omar Garrick

Every team in the world wants Kylian Mbappe in their football club. He’s too good to pass up.

Mbappe is one of the most talented talents in world football despite having been in the game for so long. In fact, he has emerged as one of the best players in the world at PSG.

When Real Madrid made a move of 180 million euros to Mbappe this summer, people expected PSG to accept the offer when he was in the final year of his contract. Surprisingly, they said no, but were they right? If you think they might not get anything for him next summer, it seems strange that they turned down that kind of money.

Mbappe has been a wanted man for a host of clubs, having been linked with relocations to Spain and England. He recently came out and told about his collapsed move and where he sees himself in the future;

He told L’Equipe: “When I say goodbye, I’m talking about Real Madrid. Real came up with a bid. I thought my time at PSG was over. Leaving was the logical next step ”.

“Other clubs? NONE. I’m attached to Paris and if I had left this summer it would have been only for Real.

“I’ve been in football long enough now to know that yesterday’s truth is not necessarily today’s. If I had been told that Messi was going to PSG, I would not have believed it, so you never know what will happen “

It is quite clear that Mbappe’s first choice is Madrid, but would he be tempted by other clubs? Well, in the case of Manchester United, their defender, Raphael Varane, has talked about his French team-mate’s next team and has argued that he does not need help with his choice;

“It is he who decides. He has the maturity to choose with his close circle,” he said ahead of France’s match against Belgium.

“He has his head on his shoulders, he knows what he wants. It’s not my role to advise him.”

Although Varane has claimed that Mbappe knows what to do, the youngster has probably asked some of his French teammates for advice on his next move.

Mbappe is free to talk to whoever he wants in January and there will be a host of clubs for his signature when the winter transfer window. Although Real Madrid are still clear favorites, there is no harm in trying to convince one of the best players in the world to join their club!

So that got us thinking, and our United Fan Brand writer, Omar Garrick, has given us his reasons why United should try to convince Kylian Mbappe to move to Old Trafford:

1. French connection

We can assume that Mbappe has spoken to Paul Pogba and Varane, right? Even if it was short. I mean, they all literally won a World Cup together, so they have to be a close bunch.

This may be a reason why Mbappe would choose United instead of United having to choose Mbappe, but let’s be clear here. If the club knows he could easily settle down, then that’s obviously a bonus, and why they should make a move.

As we have seen with some players, like Donny van de Beek, it has taken them time to settle down at the club and it is only more challenging if you do not know anyone.

So Mbappe knows Pogba and Varane, plus Anthony Martial too. He would be welcomed into the club with such great joy.

Why would he say no?

2. The Ronaldo effects

Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal talks to Kylian Mbappe from France in the tunnel after the UEFA Euro 2020 Championship Group F match between Portugal and France at Puskas Arena on June 23, 2021 in Budapest, Hungary.

We’re all seen that photo of the Ronaldo posters in Mbappe’s bedroom, right? He loves the guy and I can imagine it’s hard for him to turn down the chance to play with one of his idols.

Again, this could easily be seen as a reason why Mbappe would choose United over everyone but look at the bigger picture. Mbappe will definitely play better with Ronaldo on the team because he wants to impress and follow everything he does. You would get the best Mbappe if you sign him.

Where would Mbappe fit in with Ronaldo in the team? Well, he can play in one of the three forward positions, so that would not be a problem.

If he shows signs of being tempted by the move because of Ronaldo, then United definitely need to act, especially if they can get him on a free transfer.

An alternative to Haaland?

It is well documented that Ole Gunnar Solskjær wanted Erling Haaland at United, and there is no doubt that they will try to get him next summer.

How does United get a place for Haaland with Ronaldo? The 34-year-old Edinson Cavani is unlikely to extend his contract at Old Trafford beyond this season, so there will be a vacancy for another striker to take up the role.

United, however, need to be careful here. As Haaland has a reported release of € 75 million, there will be a host of clubs for him, especially noisy neighbors, Manchester City.

So United have to come up with alternatives if they can not get Haaland and Mbappe fits the bill in terms of star quality.

He may be a different kind of striker, but he will still get you goals, and his qualities match what United are all about; fast, fast, counter-attacking football at the break. The united way.

If United decide to move to Mbappe, they should start asking as soon as possible.
