A furious bride has smoked online after her sister-in-law threatened to steal the show on her big day with a dress just “a shade lighter than mine”.
The angry newlyweds waited for her husband’s siblings to have committed three faux pas; One was wearing a dress that made it difficult in photos to tell who the bride really was, the other was painting social media with snaps from the wedding without permission and the third refused to take them down.
“My sister-in-law wore a dress that was lighter than mine for our wedding, posted my wedding dress on all her social media and then ignored us when we asked her to take it down,” the bride shared in a now deleted post on Reddit.
“I am the one with the bouquet. My dress was champagne colored.
“My sister-in-law wore a dress that was lighter than mine. It’s a little hard to tell the difference from the pictures. ”
The sister’s fashion call did not go down well with the groom, who himself considered the radical step of starting her up from the ceremony.
“My husband is in the middle,” the bride said after posting a picture from her big day.
“He wanted to throw her out, but I asked him not to do that.
“She likes the attention and I did not want our day to be overshadowed by her.
“He did his best to keep me away from his whole family, and he ignored her completely before and after the pictures were taken. He refused to speak or look in her general direction.
“This was one of three pictures we had with her. He grimaced at them all.
“His parents took this picture because the photographer completely avoided her.”

The bride said the dress drama was only half the problem, as the sister caused further bad blood between the couple by posting a gallery of wedding day photos on social media without permission – even before the newlyweds could share them with family and loved ones.
She also denied pleas to take them down.
“After the wedding, she posted a picture of me in my wedding dress on her socials,” the bride said.
“We had asked people not to do it because we wanted the opportunity to share our photos with friends and family first. We had also expressed this. Everyone except her listened.
“She chose not to listen and ignored her brother when he asked her to take it down.
“All in all, she knew everything she was doing, not doing. She went out of her way to be disrespectful. Hence the problems I have with her. ”
Shared with “r / weddingshaming” subreddit, the post attracted hundreds of comments, many backing the bride.
“(It’s) super weird that she dressed up as a bride at her brother’s wedding,” was a popular comment, while another said her “clothing choices are yikes”.
A third person described it as “confusing”.
“It’s the only occasion you have to wear ALL OTHER COLORS,” they said.
“We can not give anyone a day where we respect this rule? Confusing. ”
