Victorian health officials have said they are specifically concerned about five COVID-19 exposure sites where virus transmission has been confirmed to have occurred at one site.

There are currently more than 120 exposure locations throughout the state, including a number of locations in and around Southern Cross Station.

Health authorities have also confirmed that there are now 15,000 Victorians isolated after being potentially exposed to the virus.

But during a press conference on Friday, test commander Jeroen Weimar said there were five places “of particular importance”.

One of the new positive cases identified Thursday night is believed to have infected the virus at the Sporting Globe in Mordialloc between 1 p.m. 18.15 and 21.45 on 23 May.

“We now see the significant risk in the special social places. We are very keen to ensure that people who have been to these places at that time arrive very quickly, ”said Weimar.

The five places of particular concern are:

  • Sporting Globe in Mordialloc between kl. 18.15 and 21.45 on 23 May.
  • Three monkeys in Prahran on 22 May between 21.10 and 23.00 and 12.30 – 02.00 on 22 May.
  • Somewhere Bar in Prahran on May 22 between 10.30pm and 1am.
  • Palace Hotel in South Melbourne on May 21 between 5.45pm and 6.45pm.
  • The Local in Port Melbourne on Mat 21 between 13.30 and 15.30

On Friday, the health department confirmed that there have been four new local cases in the last 24 hours until midnight.

If the cases are all linked to the City of Whittlesea eruption, it will bring the total value of the cluster to 30.

There are 39 active cases of the virus in Victoria, and a record number of 47,462 tests were performed on Thursday.

Two cases were registered from overseas travelers in hotel quarantine.

First day of lockdown

From 11.59pm on Thursday, the entire state started a seven-day lockdown with only five major reasons to leave the home.

The five reasons are work or education, nursing, food and supplies, exercise for two hours and going and getting vaccinated.

The 5 km radius has been returned and residents cannot leave their homes beyond this limit unless it is in an emergency or whose essential services are not within their radius.

Food purchases are limited to one person per. Household, and daily exercise has a limit of two hours with another person.

Masks must be worn anywhere that is not a person’s home, unless there is an exception.

Weddings are not allowed to continue and funerals are limited to ten people.

Childcare and kindergarten are open, but schools are closed to all except children of authorized workers and vulnerable children.
