The woman, a 22-year-old South Vancouver resident, was waiting at a bus stop when a man wearing a red puffed jacket with a fur-lined hood approached and showed her a condom and a pornographic image on his phone.

“When the woman refused and walked away, the man kicked her from behind and beat her to the ground,” police said.

“The violent and sexual nature of this incident has been of great concern to us for public safety,” Sgt. Steve Addison. “We are telling the public about this case because we are concerned that someone else could be harmed.”

The woman was not injured and was able to run away. The suspect also fled.

Police released a photo of the suspect from a nearby business and asked anyone who recognizes him to call VPD’s Sexual Offenses Unit at 604-717-0600.
