With only three episodes aired, Apple TV + has officially renewed Skydance Television’s major sci-fi series “Foundation” for another season.

The series tells the stories of four vital individuals who transcend space and time as they overcome deadly crises, change loyalties and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine human destiny.

David S. Goyer returns as showrunner in this adaptation of author Isaac Asimov’s trilogy of novels, saying in a statement that the second season will see characters like Hober Mallow, General Bel Riose and worlds like Outer Suns realized on screen.

Goyer has previously set an overall goal of eight seasons to fully customize the property. The series was reportedly quietly renewed back in November 2019 to keep production on track, but it will only be announced now.

The first season of ten episodes will end the service on November 19th.
