Choosing what to order when getting takeaway is stressful enough (what do you think I should choose ?!), but for those diagnosed with celiac disease or suffering from gluten intolerance, it gets a lot harder.
To make the order a little easier, HerCanberra reached out to gluten-free foodie queen Grace Minehan of Against the Grain for her top 10 gluten-free friendly restaurants and cafes that are taste-tested and approved.
“Of course where I eat out, there is always a risk of cross-contamination, which will always be the case until we raise more awareness of celiac disease,” Grace says.
“When I order, I always tell them that I am celiac and need gluten-free, which also means separate oil containers, to ensure cross-contamination. If you place an order online and their gluten-free options are not ready, I always call first to double check! ”
