Jack Sock and John Millman in a tense meeting

Australian tennis player John Millman was today involved in an unpleasant incident with American Jack Sock at the Indian Wells tournament.

The world number 58 won in three sets 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, but took issue with Socks’ behavior in the net after the match.

After the two shook each other up, Millman seemed to take something up with something he thought he heard. Sock replied, “I was not looking at you, I was smiling at you”.

To which Millman retorted, “You said …” before the conversation was again lost in the sound.

“No, I did not,” Sock was then heard repeating, to which Millman replied, “Yes, you did, mate. And then you kept telling me …[unintelligible]… but yes, it’s my fault! “

Millman advances to round of 64, where he meets the tenth frog Jannik Sinner.

Other Aussies involved in today’s proceedings did not fare so well; Aleksandar Vukic and Jordan Thompson lost in equal sets to Pablo Andujar and Kevin Anderson, respectively.
