The trio has performed together in the West End of London this summer and will be touring in 2022.

The much-loved family musical was originally a concept album released in 1969 before being transferred to the stage.

The stage show has now traveled to 80 countries with hit songs, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door To Me, Jacob and Sons, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go Go Go Joseph.

The musical follows Jacob’s favorite son Joseph, who is sold in distress by his eleven brothers and ends up being imprisoned.

While in prison, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams and finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled showman, the pharaoh.

The story is told entirely through song with the help of the narrator.

Jason originally played the role of Joseph in a sold-out 18-month run in the 1990s, but has appeared as Pharaoh in both 2019 and 2021.

X Factor star Alexandra’s musical theater credits include starring roles in The Bodyguard, Sister Act, Chess and Chicago.

She will also make her film debut in the film Pretty Red Dress next year.

Jac Yarrow has received unanimous recognition and an Olivier Award nomination for his portrayal of Joseph.

Producer Michael Harrison says of today’s announcement: “After two sensational races at The London Palladium, I’m delighted to bring this joyous show to the Manchester Opera House next spring as JOSEPH prepares to unite audiences and spread happiness in the UK.

“Our casting of ‘dream teams’ will enchant both newcomers and longtime fans; Jac Yarrow has thrilled audiences and critics with his spectacular debut, and contestants must be prepared for the roof to be raised when Jason Donovan takes the stage.

“Alexandra Burke is confirmed to return to her highly acclaimed role as Narrator when we perform in Manchester, after warming up theatergoers at the London Palladium this summer. GO! GO! GO! JOSEPH!”

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is directed by Laurence Connor, whose credits include School of Rock, Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ Superstar and a co-director role as Les Misérables.

It will be at the Manchester Opera House between March 21 and April 2, 2022.

Tickets are available via ATG tickets.
