On Saturday, a violent start began in the district. A man has died after being shot in Brentwood. Later in the morning, a man was stabbed to death in Petworth.
The man in Brentwood was pronounced dead after being transported to hospital just after police and EMS arrived at the scene. The incident, which is being investigated as a homicide, took place just over 1am in the 1200 block of Brentwood Road, northeast.
The slain man has been identified as 36-year-old Robert Dupont, from Severn, Maryland. Police are asking the public for information about two black men described as wearing ski masks in connection with the incident.
A man was also stabbed to death in the north-west quarter of Petworth.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide. Police have not yet released further information about the victim or the suspect.
DC Police is currently offering a reward of up to $ 25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information on this case should call the police at 202-727-9099. In addition, anonymous information can be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending an SMS to 50411.
