Two teenage boys aged 13 and 16 were shot inside a fried chicken restaurant in Harlem on Wednesday night, police say.
The victims were injured in the shooting at Mama’s Fried Chicken on Frederick Douglass Boulevard near West 116th Street around noon. 20:40, police said.
The 13-year-old was shot in the head and the other boy was beaten in the back, police said.
Both victims were taken to local hospitals and are expected to survive, authorities say.
It was not immediately clear what triggered the violence.
The restaurant could not be reached for comment.
Police said they took a 17-year-old person of interest into custody. No charges have been filed in early Thursday.
