One of Vancouver Police’s Top 6 ‘gangsters posing a threat to public safety has been arrested.

Ekene Anigbo, 22, was arrested Thursday in Richmond by members of the Vancouver Police Department’s Organized Crime Section.

Anigbo, affiliated with the Kang / Red Scorpion group, was one of six gangsters released by VPD in May, citing the significant public security risk they posed.

At the time of his arrest, Anigbo had a rifle, a pistol and ammunition in his possession, Art said. Tania Visintin in a written statement.

On Friday, Anigbo was charged with four new firearm offenses. He is also wanted on several arrest warrants for BC for the entire assault and violation of probation.

Postmedia has previously reported that Anigbo, known as rapper Lolo Lanski, is affiliated with the Kang group, but not a member. He has called Brothers Keepers member Naseem Mohammed through live Instagram videos.

In May, when police overpowered the six dangerous men, Anigbo was in court on several charges – a number of assaults dating back to September 2019 in Port Coquitlam and three counts of violating conditions following previous convictions in Vancouver for carrying a banned device, possess an unlicensed firearm and utter threats.

He remains in custody pending his next appearance in Vancouver Provincial Court on October 14.

Anigbo’s arrest was a result of VPD’s Task Force Threshold, launched in May in response to escalating gang violence in Metro Vancouver.

At the time, Chief Adam Palmer said the six most wanted posed a significant risk to public safety.

Not only do they pose a risk to their friends, families and acquaintances, but they also pose a risk to people who do not even know them … every time they go to the gym, they shop, they go to the grocery store, a restaurant or a bar, ”Palmer said.
