Calgary police are investigating a sexual assault that took place in downtown Calgary and are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect.

Around 6 pm on September 4, a group of people stood on the 3rd St. SW LRT station when a man the group did not know approached them and started cursing them.

Police say it is believed the man then moved towards a woman in the group, sexually assaulted her and walked away.

The man is described as about 5’9 “tall, between 25 and 30 years old, with a heavy build and a goatee.

The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt with a white logo on the front and back, jeans and black Converse shoes with white soles.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident or anyone who knows the identity of the suspect to contact police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting www.calgarycrimestoppers.org.
