After a day of sweater shopping, apple picking and leaf tearing, it’s tempting to curl up next to your pumpkin spice candle and call it a day. Fortunately, the team at UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar has come up with the perfect reason to get out of the house on a cold night: a —and yes, it’s inspired by our favorite season.

Led by UVA’s new bar manager Stephen Sherry, the autumn menu features eight original and eight classic cocktails, all handmade with UVA’s unique, award-winning touch.

One of the most striking is a drink we do not know if we could ever do without, Watermelon Sugar High. This fan favorite mixes Botanical Grapefruit & Rose Ketel One, Maraschino Luxardo, lime and grapefruit juice, egg white, watermelon and rose reduction.

Another highlight is a cocktail with a name that speaks for itself, Forgotten Nights. It is made with St.Remy VSOP brandy, Ardbeg 10-year-old, drunk cherry juice, lime and orange juice, a Demerara sugar cube and Angostura bitters.

The new fall menu also features a fresh variation of the popular Espresso Martini Flight (think cherries, vanilla and chocolate) and $ 20 wine flights:

Red wine flight

  • What’s Happening Now …, Gamay Noir, BC
  • Pirona Langhe, Barbera, IT
  • Rocca della Macie, ‘Sasyr’ Sangiovese, IT
  • Masseria Surani, ‘Heracles’ Primitivo, IT

White wine flight

  • Marcus Ansems, Viognier, BC
  • Attems, Pinot Grigio, IT
  • Blasted Church, Pinot Gris, BC
  • Dirty laundry, Chardonnay, BC

If cocktails are not your thing, or if you had too many forgotten nights the night before, UVA has another option. From kl. 7 to 14, it transforms into an authentic Italian-inspired café bar serving well-made espresso drinks, freshly squeezed juices, pastries and artisanal paninis.

The UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar is located at 900 Seymour Street in the heart of the Downtown Vancouver Cultural and Entertainment District. Whether it’s a special occasion, evening, first date or a rainy October night, UVA is ready to serve you and your friends. This is not strange Just readers have voted it the No. 1 “Best Wine Bar” in this year’s Golden Plates Awards.
