Woody Harrelson looked calm and collected while being seen for the first time since reportedly beating an over-eager fan in self-defense on Wednesday.

The Emmy-winning actor, 60, cut a casual figure during a bike ride around Washington DC, where he is currently filming the movie The White House Plumbers about the Watergate scandal.

Woody allegedly got into a fight with a hit man – who has not yet been identified – while he was out to dinner with his daughter on the Watergate hotel’s roof terrace, Top of the Gate, on Wednesday night.

During his bike ride, Harrelson wore blue shorts, a white tee shirt and flip-flops with sunglasses and a trucker hat on.

He was joined by a friend with shaggy blonde hair, with whom he chatted through the outing.

The True Detective star looked like he was having a good day after a reported physical altercation with a fan on Wednesday.

Harrelson reportedly beat the persistent fan after the man took unsolicited photos of the Cheers star and refused to delete them, eyewitnesses say.

The actor beat the man – who has not yet been identified – while he was out with his daughter on the hotel’s beautiful roof terrace, Top of the Gate, around noon. 23.00.

Police say the case is being processed for the man after he was questioned that night in his hotel room by investigators after fleeing the altercation – and he will be charged with charges.

However, Harrelson was not charged with the incident – as investigators say he acted ‘in self-defense’.

According to police, the man – who police say had been drinking and has not yet been identified – slammed Harrelson after the actor approached him and asked him to delete a series of photographs he had taken of him and his daughter.

Harrelson ‘approached the man and asked him to delete the photos,’ said Dustin Sternbeck, communications director at the Metropolitan Police Department in the District of Columbia, in a statement after the incident, which occurred minutes after 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Harrelson ‘then came into an oral dispute with’ the man who allegedly ‘hurried towards’ the actor to try to grab his throat, a public incident report filed after the altercation late at night reads.

Harrelson then preventively beat the man before he could land his own blow, according to eyewitness reports and the police report.

The man then fled from the star to his hotel room.

When police arrived at the scene shortly after, Harrelson told them he had beaten the man in self-defense – and several witnesses allegedly confirmed the star’s story, reveals the report.

Harrelson was questioned by police but was not charged with any crime.

According to the incident report, the officers decided that the actor was actually participating in ‘self-defense’.

The actor has been in Washington and recorded an HBO series about the Nixon administration’s infamous Watergate scandal and the burglary of the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters at the famous hotel.

Harrelson and his wife of 13 years, Laura Louie, had been spotted hours before the incident, just over a mile from where the altercation took place, when the couple headed to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in downtime from the footage.

Harrelson, 60, announced in 2017 that he had given up marijuana after decades of “partying too hard,” saying he only drinks in moderation.

Harrelson, 60, is the father of three daughters aged 28, 25 and 15.

It is not immediately clear which daughter Harrelson had dinner with when the quarrel arose.

Police say charges are pending for the man who was questioned in his hotel room after the altercation – but according to the report, investigators believe Harrelson acted ‘in self-defense’.

Harrelson, 60, was not charged with the incident – which took place around 6 p.m.

The name of the other man involved in the altercation will be made public when he is charged, DC police said.

Harrelson, however, boasts a somewhat checkered history when it comes to running with the law.

In 2017, he admitted that he had given up smoking marijuana after decades of what he called ‘partying too hard’, but said he still occasionally drinks ‘in moderation’.

In 2008, TMZ photographer Josh Levine sued the actor for an alleged attack outside a Hollywood nightclub in 2006, where a video of the incident appeared to show Harrelson grabbing Levine’s camera and subsequently fighting with the photographer.

Los Angeles prosecutors refused to arrive the star, and the case was dismissed two years later.

In 2002, the star was arrested in London for allegedly causing ‘criminal damage to a black taxi in the Waterloo Place area and then fleeing the car,’ said a spokesman for Scotland Yard.

He was then tracked down by police and arrested before being rescued that day.

In 1982, Harrelson was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Columbus, Ohio, after being picked up by police for dancing in traffic and escaping a police car.

He then got into a physical altercation with the officer who chased him down.

Harrelson paid a $ 390 fine for the incident – and received no jail time.

Harrelson’s father, Charles Harrelson, however, had a much more violent streak — he was a career criminal and hitman-for-hire who was convicted of first-degree murder not once, but twice, for a couple of full-blown assassinations committed in just over ten years – and was also charged and acquitted of yet another murder during that stretch.

He died in 2007 at the age of 69, serving two consecutive sentences in a federal maximum security prison in Colorado.

However, regarding Wednesday’s quarrel with Woody, it was not immediately clear who called the police to the scene – and the Metropolitan Police Department says an investigation is still ongoing.
