A sweeper caught fire on a main road in Oldham in the early hours of this morning.
Around 7 a.m. Sunday (October 10), firefighters were called to report an incident on Huddersfield Road.
Firefighters from Chadderton and Mossley attended the scene where it was determined that a sweeper on a roadway had caught fire.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and were present for about three hours.
A resident who lived nearby said the fire was ‘pretty scary’.
Stephen Lovett said: “I just came across it around noon. 7 on the way to work.
“There was fuel and flames across both lanes, and it jumped. It was pretty scary. ”
The Greater Manchester Fire Rescue Service (GMFRS) said no injuries were reported.
A spokesman for GMFRS added: “Around 6.55am on Sunday 10 October, two fire engines from Chadderton and Mossley stations took part in an incident on Huddersfield Road, Oldham.
“The fire involved a sweeper on a roadway. Firefighters wearing respirators used three hose reels to put out the fire and were present for about three hours. ”
