Manchester United have suffered a hamstring injury with a showdown against Liverpool on the horizon.

The Reds take on their old rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday 24 October in the Premier League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side is already without club captain Harry Maguire due to injury, and now another player seems to be added to the list.

Raphael Varane was forced to be replaced in the first half for France in their UEFA Nations League final against Spain on Sunday night.

Varane went down and held his leg, but it is unclear if he felt it after adjusting a muscle when he ran or when he appeared to cut out a Spain post.

United must take on Leicester City on Saturday and then travel to Atalanta in the Champions League before meeting Liverpool in the Premier League the following Sunday.

It is currently unclear about the severity of Varane’s injury, as the French international leaves in the 43rd minute and could not wait for halftime.

The French medical staff took care of Varane on the pitch, but it soon became clear that he would not be able to continue.

Maguire’s return date is also unclear, leaving Man United with the option of having their two main central defenders absent for a visit to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool know the first-hand scenario for Man United, having struggled through most of last season without their three main central defenders.
