One of the “Top 6” gangsters on Vancouver Police’s most coveted list for posing a threat to public safety has been arrested.

Ekene Anigbo, 22, was arrested Thursday in Richmond by members of VPD’s Department of Organized Crime.

Anigbo, who is affiliated with the Kang / Red Scorpion group, was one of six gangsters in Vancouver who were released to police in May, citing the significant public safety risk they posed.

At the time of his arrest, Anigbo had a rifle, a pistol and ammunition in his possession, Art said. Tania Visintin in a written statement.

On Friday, Anigbo was charged with four new firearm offenses. He is also wanted on several BC-wide arrest warrants for assault and violation of probation.

Postmedia has previously reported that Anigbo, known as rapper Lolo Lanski, is affiliated with the Kang group but is not a member. He has called Brothers Keepers member Naseem Mohammed through live Instagram videos.

In May, when police overpowered the six dangerous men, Anigbo was in court on several charges: an attack dating back to September 2019 in Port Coquitlam, and three counts of violating conditions following previous convictions in Vancouver for wearing a banned device , possess a firearm without a license and utter threats.

He remains in custody pending his next appearance in Vancouver District Court on Thursday.

Anigbo’s arrest was a result of VPD’s Task Force Threshold, launched in May in response to escalating gang violence in Metro Vancouver.

At the time, Chief Adam Palmer said the six most wanted posed a significant risk to public safety.

Not only do they pose a risk to their friends, families and acquaintances, but they also pose a risk to people who do not even know them … every time they go to the gym, they shop, they go to the grocery store, a restaurant or a bar, ”Palmer said.
