A woman on Staten Island who was shot by her teenage son during a fight has died, police said Sunday.
Minire Pelinkovic, 51, was blown to the chest by her 18-year-old son, Adnan Pelinkovic, in their New Dorp home around 6.20pm on Saturday, according to the NYPD. She was rushed to Staten Island Hospital University North and pronounced dead around noon. 23, police said.
Police said the son, who was remanded in custody at the scene, used a Sig Sauer 9mm owned by his father in the alleged killing.
The deadly shooting was caused by “some sort of argument,” a NYPD spokesman said.
At the home, police officers who responded said they saw the teenager’s father and the victim’s husband, 54, with a non-life-threatening gash on their chest, according to the NYPD.
Adnan Pelinkovic was charged with murder, attempted murder as well as two counts of assault, criminal possession of a loaded weapon and threatening, police said.
