A question that has puzzled Chorlton residents for weeks has finally been answered.

Locals took to social media to wonder why, but no concrete answer was found.

After being contacted by Manchester Evening News , Royal Mail has now cleared up the confusion.
A spokesman for the Royal Mail said: “The mailboxes are temporarily out of order as they await new locks. This will take about two weeks.”
“Messages have been used on the mailboxes to explain why they are currently out of use.
“We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers.”
