The gruesome incident happened around 6.20pm on Saturday after an altercation inside the home on the 100-block Burbank Avenue, located on the corner of South Railroad Avenue.

According to a law enforcement source, the alleged fatal dispute was the result of a culmination of the family’s arguments about what homeschooled Adnan Pelinkovic saw on television. The source said it included adult entertainment programs.

Minire Pelinkovic was transported to Staten Island Hospital University, Ocean Breeze, where she was later pronounced dead.

In addition, according to police, Adnan Pelinkovic should have injured his 54-year-old father. His father suffered a non-life-threatening injury to the chest, which police believe may be a grazing wound, but refused medical attention on the spot, police said.

According to police, the gun used in the shooting was legal and licensed to Adnan Pelinkovic’s father.

Adnan Pelinkovic was indicted on Sunday in Staten Island Criminal Court and remanded in custody without bail. His next trial date is Friday, October 15th.
