The number of admissions due to the virus decreased by one.

After registering fewer than 500 cases in three days to start last week, Quebec announced 612 new infections on Sunday – the fourth day in a row with more than 600 new cases.

These new cases that were announced saw the province’s seven – day rolling average rise to 546.

Despite accounting for only 23.9 percent of Quebecers, people who do not enjoy the protection of a first vaccine dose accounted for 400 of the new infections.

A total of 415,787 infections have now been confirmed in the province since the first was reported in February 2020.

Quebec also announced that three more deaths had been attributed to the virus, bringing the province’s death toll to 11,415.

The number of admissions due to the virus is now at 296 patients, a decrease of one. Of these patients, 80 are in intensive care – a decrease of four.
