This is the first image of a teenager fighting for his life in hospital today after a horrific accident at night that killed four of his family from the UK travel community.

Schoolboy Jerry Cash was the only survivor of the Kent horror incident in the early hours of Sunday morning while he and his relatives drove to watch Tyson Fury’s fight at night against Deontay Wilder on television.

The 15-year-old is fighting for his life at the hospital in London after he was taken by plane from Kent.

The incident, which happened on Lenham Road, Headcorn, Kent, left four people dead, a 44-year-old, a 25-year-old and two others aged 18 and 19 years. All were men and are understood to have been from the same family.

The other victim, named locally, was 25-year-old Johnny Cash Jnr.

He posted a picture of them together on Instagram with the message: ‘One of my best friends, my brother, loves you cuz’.

After the crash, photos of the smashed Toyota Hilux pick-up truck showed how it had been severely missing as it is believed to have smashed into trees after driving off the narrow country road in thick fog.

Today, family members sent touching tributes to the four men believed to be part of a travel group living nearby.

A relative asked online for help supporting teenage survivors and said, ‘Ask everyone you know to pray for this young boy.

β€œHe is the only one out of five who survived the car accident. This little boy needs healing from God right now. ‘

While another relative who posted a picture of the men simply said, ‘I just can not get my head around it.’

Post-mortem examinations were expected to be performed today by a pathologist to determine exactly what caused the deaths of the four men.

A Kent Police spokesman investigating the crash said: ‘A 15-year-old boy who was also a passenger was taken to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries.

‘Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances and officers are appealing for all witnesses to get in touch.

‘Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has CCTV, mobile phone or dash camera footage, should call us on 01622 798538.’
