Sign up for President Robert C. Robbins and Dave Heeke, Vice President and Director of Athletics, in Washington, DC or online for a panel discussion with key stakeholders on name, image and equality (NIL) and the need for immediate legislation.

On July 1, the NCAA adopted a landmark policy that deregulated amateurism and enabled student-athletes to take advantage of their name, image, and equality (NIL). Many states have issued laws and guidance to regulate the NIL at the state level, but there is still no federal NIL law to provide overall guidance despite the fact that six bills have been introduced in the past year. The lack of federal legislation has created a competitive imbalance across NCAA institutions in all 50 states, as NCAA policies allowed institutions to develop their own institutional policies in the absence of state legislation. In this uncertain environment, a new generation of student-athletes navigates the patchwork of NIL politics to follow their dreams, and the University of Arizona debuted the ArizonaEdge program to support them. The panel will discuss the impact of NIL on institutions, student athletes and industry and discuss why a federal policy is essential to ensure equal opportunities for college athletes.
