An elderly woman has critical injuries after being hit by a bus in the Midtown Toronto area.
Tuesday, October 12, shortly before noon. 14, Toronto police received a report of a personal injury collision involving a Toronto Transit Commission bus and a pedestrian near Lawrence and Duplex roads.
Investigators said a 43-year-old driver was driving a bus eastbound on Lawrence, west of Duplex. At the same time, an 86-year-old woman was standing on Lawrence’s southern sidewalk. She allegedly entered the roadway and collided with the passing bus.
The elderly man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
