Since Riders Republic is only a few weeks away, we’re exploring why the game’s chaotic multiplayer playground can become a big hit.
The wind whistles past your head as you whiz down the Grand Teton – one of the highest mountains in the United States. Your bike can hardly stay on the ground, but you ride anyway. Suddenly the trail stops and before you know it you are soaring. But even though it would normally be a cause for concern, today is just another day in the office as a practical wing suit is suddenly utilized so you can easily navigate in the air.
It is this level of excitement that Ubisoft hopes to offer players Riders Republic – a massive multiplayer playground for both sports lovers and action junkies. If a recent presentation we were familiar with is an indication, you should lie down when you are done.
The multisport event we described earlier is what devs call ‘Mass Race’. According to the team, the focus of these Mass Races is actually not to win. It’s pure chaos.
With up to 64 players competing at once, we can not imagine it going any other way, but we were pretty impressed with how smoothly the sport shifts apart and seems to be an absolute laugh with a group of friends by your side.
If you prefer one sport at a time, you can also do it with five extreme sports in total. There is biking, skiing, snowboarding, wingsuit flying and rocket wingsuiting. Each will have their own events to try across the various places like Bryce Canyon and Yosemite Valley, so choose your favorite, or try them all.
But basically Riders Republic trying to build a social experience that makes you come back for more. Whether you choose to run your heart out, perform tricks for the handmade parts of the gaming world, or just stroll around with friends in a giraffe costume — it’s entirely your calling. There are no rules for how you should spend your time in Riders Republic, and perhaps that is one of its biggest selling points.

The team is also committed to keeping you around long-term with a comprehensive first-year content plan that includes live events, weekly challenges and even the introduction of multiple multiplayer modes as a player-on-player ‘Showdown’ match. We were promised that Showdown will amplify the chaos as teams of six run to collect more gems than the other player. Team-based chaos? Ubisoft really knows the way to our heart.
With crossed fingers Riders Republic lives up to the hype, but we know for sure when the full game hits PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, XBO and PC on Thursday, October 28th. You can currently order it through Amazon.
Keep an eye on our final verdict.
