The City of Ottawa Planning Committee has approved the official plan change

OTTAWA, ON, September 7, 2021 / CNW / – Hazelview Investments (Hazelview) confirms further changes in its commitment to the residents of the Heron Gate community following the approval of the Ottawa City Planning and Development Committee’s approval of an official plan change on August 26, 2021. The plan will be presented to the Ottawa City Council on September 8, 2021.

The additional obligations include:

  • Extension of affordable housing obligations for newly built construction to 15 years.
  • After these 15 years, residents living in the designated affordable housing will be protected and will continue to pay their current affordable rent at that time plus increases per capita. RTA. This protection will be written into their lease.

These commitments are in addition to the other commitments for affordable housing, social enterprise, green space, diversity of housing and more, which are described in City of Ottawa planning report.
