It may be the preseason, but it’s still not something any team wants to be attached to.
The Charlotte Hornets broke records for all the wrong reasons during their clash with the Dallas Mavericks at home and suffered the worst loss ever seen in the NBA.
The Hornets, owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan, were beaten by 68 points in their last fine-tuning match against Luka Doncic and co. and the result could be cause for concern with their season opener against the Pacers just a week away.
The Mavericks were miles ahead in the middle of the second quarter, leading by a full 72 points early in the fourth quarter before taking the game 127-59. It was the biggest victory in history before the season per. ESPN.
Conversely, the 68-point loss equates to the biggest defeat ever seen in the NBA’s regular season — when Cleveland beat Miami 148-80 in 1991.
Dallas was led by Kristaps Porzingis with 20 points, while six players scored with two figures.
Luka Doncic seemed uninterested in large parts of the first half, but managed to get to 10 points and eight assists with just one turnover.
