Danny Murphy urges Newcastle to loan Manchester United agent Edinson Cavani on loan in January

As quoted by The Daily Mail (h / t The Shields Gazette), former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has urged Newcastle United to seek a loan deal for top strikers, including Manchester United’s Edinson Cavani, in the January window.

Newcastle’s new owners in Saudi Arabia are believed to be the richest club owners in world football, according to The Sun. The club rolled under Mike Ashley’s ownership and has started this in terrible shape.

But the club seems to have turned a new corner in their history and fans are now hoping for a strong rebuild so they can challenge for European seats. Currently, the Magpies have a chance to be relegated after an impressive summer window.

If the same trend continues in January, Steve Bruce-led Magpies could well find themselves in the championship. But it is believed the club want to strengthen in January and Murphy have suggested an approach they could follow in the short term.

Cavani to Newcastle?

According to the former Premier League midfielder, Newcastle should seek to bring in high-profile attackers on loan for the winter players who are unlikely to make a long-term commitment to the Toons.

“They have money to pay high salaries, so why not aim big at the loan market. Try to get Edinson Cavani in from Manchester United because he is not going to play at Old Trafford or Alexandre Lacazette, who is in the final year of his contract at Arsenal.

Murphy is right in his assessment that a few top-class players may not want to commit to their long-term future at Newcastle yet. But for some Man United fans, they would like to stick with the Uruguayan striker for as long as they can.

“HAS A NAUGHTY FOR TIMO WERNER IN CHELSEA. That type of player will not take the risk of joining permanently in the event of relegation. ”
