Brian Laundrie remains elusive, but U.S. authorities have found a disturbing number of bodies in the middle of the search for the only person of interest in Gabby Petito’s death.

It has been reported that the remains of at least seven people have been discovered across the country during the search.

And in a strange turn of events, another refugee was reportedly found near the search zone for Laundrie.

According to reports, Florida man Ethan Waters, wanted for contempt of court and property damage, was caught near the Carlton Reserve on Saturday, where the search for Laundrie, the 23-year-old fiancée of the killed woman Petito, has focused.

Laundrie’s parents say they have not seen him since Sept. 13, when he told them he was going on a trip to the Carlton Reserve.

In recent times, authorities have found the remains in Southern California suspected of belonging to New Jersey woman Lauren Cho, who lived with friends in the Yucca Valley.

Authorities said on October 9 that the identification process could take weeks.

In late September, the body of hiker Robert Lowery, missing since Aug. 20, was found in Wyoming, while Kylen Schulte and her wife, Crystal Turner, were found shot dead at a Utah campground in August.

The latter case was linked to the Petito case because she and Laundrie passed through Moab, near the campsite where the newlyweds were murdered in the days before.

But police now say there is no connection between the two cases.

On August 12, a few weeks before Gabrielle was reported missing, the couple was seen arguing at a grocery store in Moab, Utah, where Kylen Schulte worked.

The bodies of a homeless man at an Alabama Walmart and a missing woman in Colorado have also recently been discovered as well as unidentified remains in North Carolina.

The number of such discoveries has shocked internet gossip and those interested in the Petito case.
