Police have launched a murder investigation after a 28-year-old man who was found badly injured in a city street died in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were called to Bedale Drive in Mowmacre Hill, Leicester, just before 5.15am yesterday after shouts and quarrels were heard in the area.

He was rushed to the hospital where he died this morning.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is still in police custody, and a property in Bedale Drive is still cordoned off today while officers conduct further investigations into the site.
Detective Inspector Kenny Henry of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Murder Investigation Team said: “Despite the arrest, extensive investigations into the area continue.
“We will ask anyone who was in the area between 8pm on Sunday and 6am the following morning to contact us if they heard shouting or quarreling.

“If you have also heard rumors about the circumstances before the incident or have any information that can help us put together what happened, please contact us.
“If anyone was driving in the area around the time of the report and has video recording equipment installed in their vehicles, please ask them to check the footage and contact us if they have captured anything that could help with the investigation.”
