18-year-old Florian Wirtz is the man who has received the reported attention, and his striking feature of six goals and six assists in 11 games so far this season shows what a coveted asset he is.

However, Wirtz first signed a contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen this summer, with his new deal only ending in 2026, meaning any move for the teenager would cost a small fortune.

Chelsea have reportedly also shown interest in Wirtz, who has already received four internationals for the German national team.

German journalist drops Newcastle claim

German journalist Christian Falk has revealed who he thinks is the favorite for the Newcastle United job and whether they would work well with a football director.

Falk believes former Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre is now the favorite to take charge at Newcastle and that he would ‘harmonize’ with Marc Overmars if the former Arsenal man moves Amsterdam to Tyneside.

Favre had been in the running for the Crystal Palace job this summer and has expressed a desire to do well in the Premier League.

Samir Nasri’s advice to Newcastle United goal

Former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has given long-term Newcastle United goal Boubacar Kamara some transfer advice.

Nasri, who moved to the Premier League from Marseille in 2008, believes Kamara should reject a move to England to continue his development in France.

“You want to be more in the spotlight than in a club in the middle of the Premier League table.

“And it’s your club that’s a good project. You’ve in your twenties; you want to make money in your career.”

Newcastle reportedly got a verbal offer on Kamara rejected this summer.
