WASHINGTON – Police presence has been increased inside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday after a bomb threat in the nearby U.S. Department of Health and Human Services building.
The bomb threat was reported around noon. 10 at the 200-block HHS building on Independence Avenue in downtown DC. This building was evacuated.

No injuries have been reported.
Sarah Lovenheim, HHS Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs, issued the following statement:
“This morning a bomb threat was received at the Humphrey building. Out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated the building and there is no reported incident. We are monitoring the situation closely with the Federal Protective Service. Any questions can be directed to the Federal Protection Service.”
