Aussies who want to win a million dollars at the expense of a COVID-19 vaccine as part of the Million Dollar Vax campaign have until October 31 to receive their first or second dose.
Most Australians will be eligible to take part in the lottery after the national vaccination rate for over 16s rose to 76.2 per cent on Friday.

The promotion will give away prizes worth $ 4.1 million away, with the big $ 1 million cash ticket drawn on November 5th.
Around $ 3,100 worth of $ 1,000 gift cards will also be drawn during October.

The campaign, funded by philanthropists and companies, aims to increase national vaccination rates above 80 percent, an important reopening target under the national plan.
But Craig Winkler of the Million Dollar Vax Alliance says it’s not designed to convince Australians who are hesitant to get vaccinated.
“It’s a decision you should make in consultation with a healthcare professional,” he said in a statement earlier in October.
“The campaign simply seeks to reward people who decide to be vaccinated now instead of waiting so we can reduce the societal impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The sooner we reach higher vaccination rates at the national level, higher than 80 percent, the sooner we can all safely resume our full range of community and business activities.”

Australia’s vaccination rates have risen in recent months as supply problems eased.
The federal government had considered incentives to encourage Australians to get the plug before the lockdown-inducing outbreak of the highly contagious Delta variant in NSW and Victoria.
Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews has approved the concept after his state announced a mandate for more than a million authorized workers.

All Australian adults are eligible to enter the competition online as long as they have received a first dose on or before 31 October.
Prizes will only be awarded to those who are fully vaccinated by December 13, six weeks after the cut-off date.
