99 percent of Toronto employees have reported their vaccine status. Of those, 98 percent have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 94 percent are fully vaccinated.
The city’s mandatory vaccine policy for all city staff to be fully immunized went into effect on Saturday, October 30th.
And as of this week, non-compliant staff must meet with their supervisor to review their vaccination status and may be suspended for up to 6 weeks without pay.
The meetings will initially focus on those who have not received any doses of a COVID-19 vaccine or have not stated their vaccination status.
And for those with one dose, meetings begin in the week of November 15th.
Following unpaid suspension, employees who do not provide proof of receiving both doses will be fired from December 13th.
