NASCAR Cup Series veteran Denny Hamlin has not held back from giving his assessment of Hendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman following a controversial collision at Martinsville Speedway.
Hamlin was spun out of the lead of the Xfinity 500 when Bowman shot down the inside.
The latter would continue to win the race, only to be confronted on the track by a furious Hamlin, who still eventually made it through to Championship 4.
“He’s just a hack. Just an absolute hack,” 40-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing driver said of Bowman.
‘He gets kicked in the ass by his teammates every week. He is [expletive] terrible. He’s just awful. He sees one possibility, he takes it.
“He did not want to run races with us there. We had a good, clean race.
“I moved up as high as I could on the racetrack to give him all the space I could, he still can’t drive.”
Hamlin was hailed by the audience during the interview, declaring that he expects more of the same from fans at the season finale at Phoenix Raceway next weekend.
“It’s just Chase Elliott fans, man. They are not thinking straight,” he added.
