New Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 spotted on the road

Months after the confirmation that an icon returned, the motor YouTuber Varryx has seen the very first Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 on public road after “weeks of stalking”. Which certainly bodes well for the legendary Italian brand’s plans to deliver as planned.

The new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 features a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine and 48V electric motor that arrives with a hybrid driveline – LPI, which designates the “Longitudinal Posteriore Ibrido” designation previously seen in the Asterion The hybrid concept from 2015. Able to send a combined horsepower of 803 (600 kW) to all four wheels and generate a torque of 720 Nm, it effectively manages 0-100 strokes in just 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 355 km / t.

Lots of carbon fiber has been used for the exterior chassis and bodywork, as well as finding its way into the front splitter, bonnet cover intake, rocker panels and front + side mirror cladding. Lamborghini has reportedly harnessed the power of 3D printing technology to create moving air vents while incorporating a futuristic photochromatic roof; which basically means it has the ability to switch between solid and transparent with a single touch of a button.

“The Countach LPI 800-4 is a visionary car at the moment, just like its predecessor was,” said Stephan Winkelmann, CEO & President of Automobili Lamborghini.

“[The car] pays homage to this Lamborghini legacy, but it is not retrospective: it imagines how the iconic Countach of the ’70s and’ 80s could have evolved into an elite supersport model in this decade. “

“When I look at it, it gives me goosebumps and it serves as the perfect reminder for me and the entire design team to design any future Lamborghini in a visionary and futuristic way,” says Mitja Borkert, Head of Lamborghini Centro Stile.

“This is an irreplaceable part of our DNA, the essence if you will. The first Countach shaped Lamborghini’s design DNA like no other car; the new Countach translates the unconventional and edgy character into the future.”

Limited to just 112 examples, surprise, surprise – every single one of these $ 2.64 million beauties has already been talked about, and the first deliveries are expected sometime in the 1st quarter of 2022.
