NSW fire and rescue crews have contained a fire in a unit above the store on Princess Highway, Rockdale.
The Kogarah unit in Fire and Rescue responded to a report of smoke and flames coming from a window on the first floor of the premises around 1 p.m. 11.20 this morning.
When the fire was at its peak, a total of 18 fire engines and special vehicles were on the scene.
But this was more of a precaution as there was fear that the fire could spread to the adjacent shops on both sides.
The fire brigade was able to contain the fire at the site or at the source at 13.10.
The fire investigation unit was on site late this afternoon.
No one was injured in the incident.
