Instagram influencers have jumped to the defense of the controversial chef Salt Bae – and are defending his infamous £ 630 steak at his exorbitantly expensive restaurant.

Sisters Ellie and Daisy O’Donnell described the meat plate as “something else” when they tried it at Nusr-Et Steakhouse London in Knightsbridge in south-west London.

The wildly priced restaurant costs as much as £ 9 for a glass of cola, £ 100 for a gold-plated burger and £ 60 for a single tempura roll.

The menu received violent backlash online as being overrated, overpriced and clearly aimed at people with more money than they even know what to do with.

For example, Evening Standards restaurant critic Jimi Famurewa labeled the eatery as “the capital’s worst burger” and said the restaurant was not worth the hype.

He said: “The only thing that does not come, no matter how long you wait, will be the moment when something at Nusr-Et Steakhouse London comes close to justifying the hype.”

But Instagram influencers Ellie and Daisy were quick to defend the chef, whose real name is Nusret Gökçe, after followers said they ate at the restaurant only for their social media platform.

Their 584,400 followers were able to watch the video of their expensive night in the capital over the weekend.

Salt Bae was ready to act as their own personal waiter and even sprinkled salt on their £ 630 steak in his signature style.

Ellie and Daisy subtitled the video: “Best Restaurant,” adding, “Actually, the food was something else.”

Salt Bae opened its 15th location, and first London restaurant, in September this year.
