ITV Good Morning Britain: Viewers roll over the London couple who met on Blind Date 30 years ago

A happy couple who met in TV dating show Blind date more than 30 years ago are still together to this day.

The couple showed up Good morning Great Britain this morning (November 3) to share their experience with viewers who were happy to see that they are still together.

Sue and Alex Tatham recently celebrated their Pearl wedding anniversary, meaning they have been married for 30 years.

Presenter Richard Madeley asked the couple, “When did you start realizing this was going to go somewhere?”

Sue admitted that the relationship had its difficulties in the beginning.

She said: “I lived in the Midlands and Alex lived in London. It was not an easy relationship, geographically.

“He came and saw me over the weekend, and when he went home I thought, ‘I’m really sorry.”

“That was when I thought there’s something in there.”

Susanna Reid asked Alex, “What was it about your lovely wife’s response that made you think, ‘this is the person for me’?”

His response, however, was not as romantic as the presenter might have thought.

“I made a eenie-meenie-minie-mo. It was very fatalistic,” Alex admitted.

Fans were quick to share their thoughts on social media.

A Twitter user said, “Back then, people were on the show to actually meet someone, not to have a social media profile or an influencer career. Simpler times all around.”

Another added that the couple was still together was a much-needed “bit of good news,” while many others shared in the couple’s joy of still being together.
