The city of Toronto says the overwhelming majority of urban workers have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The city’s vaccine mandate went into effect on October 30, when workers were to receive one dose.
98% of workers have received at least 1 dose, while 94% are fully vaccinated.
There are more than 35,000 people working for the city of Toronto. There are fewer than 1,300 who have either not been vaccinated or have not said whether they have received a first or second dose.
These workers could be put on unpaid leave as early as this week.
Workers must be completely inoculated before November 15th. Those who are still not vaccinated or have not provided evidence by December 13th will be dismissed with cause.
